Graphics card won't post - tried everything?

Hi
I have recently bought a new system with Asus A8V Deluxe, Nvidi
FX5500 AGP

Everything was working fine until the graphics card fan was buzzing a
I booted up followed by "system failed vga test" message. I
I powered off, then back on, it would work fine. Now, buzzing ha
stopped but I still get the same message and the computer won'
post

Here's what I tried
Installed an old AGP graphics card. This works

I tried the FX5500 in my old machine. This works

I bought a new 580W PSU for the ASUS board. Still won't post with th
FX5500

I cleared the CMOS. No change

Any ideas, anyone? Help would be much appreciated
