Graphic card disabled

A friend accidently disabled his graphic card on a
Win XP SP2 installation. Now the screen remains dark :-(((
Even F8 and a reboot in "Save Mode" or "VGA mode"
didn't help.
Is there a way to fix this without reinstalling the whole system?

I am sorry to hear this.
You can change a card, let Windows detect it.
Borrow one if you don't need to buy.
