gpupdate causes blue screen of death

Currently testing a locked down Windows XP image (user does not have local
admin privs). As we're testing various group policy objects, we run a
gpupdate from the run line or a command prompt. After several gpupdates (3
or 4) the machine will blue screen with the following error:

Stop: c000021 {Fatal System Error}
The windows logon process system process terminated unrepentantly with a
status of 0x00000001 (0x00000000 0x00000000).
The system has been shut down.

Do you have ACPI on on those machines with the fatal error?

There are also known problems with XP & Norton GoBack which causes the same
error

I believe these machines do have ACPI since they are brand new Dell Latitude
notebooks. Is there a way to check easily? We do not use Norton GoBack.
