gps.dll error when starting the flight sim.

I just bought Flight Simulator 2004 "Flight of the Century" After loading the
4 CD's and leaving the 4th CD in, I try to start the flight sim I keep
getting an error that says gps.dll files are either corrupted or damaged
reload the game, then the game closes down. I have removed the game and
turned off the auto protect on my Norton Anti-Virus, then reloaded the game 3
times, I cannot get the game to work. Any recommendations for help?

Hi Don,

Let's try a few things to get that working for you again:

1. Startup your system in SAFE MODE by pressing F8 repeatedly
while your system is booting up after you've shut down your system

2. Log in with an account you've created as a "Computer Administrator"
account that you'll use to play the game. (Don't use a Limited account)

3. Uninstall FS 2004

4. Run the Disk Cleanup and Disk Defrag utilities on your drive

5. Reboot

6. Repeat steps 1 and 2 above and then reinstall FS 2004

Jimmy,
Thank you for the help. I think I cleaned up the system better and loaded
the game in the correct area, although after following your instructions I
was still receiving the same error.

So what I did was search the CD's for the gps.DLL file. I think I found it
on disk 2. Then I copied and pasted it into the correct file. After that I
got a gps_export.DLL error. I copied and pasted it into the correct file from
disk 2. The game is now running fine.

Again, thank you for your help and suggestions.
