Had it going for the last few hours, plugged via a dock into my Hi-Fi.

First time I've ever tried the shuffle mode, quite odd.

For some strange reason it seems to favour Santana, Led Zeppelin, The Fratellis and Cradle Of Filth

I get that with WMP when I use shuffle. And my cheapo MP3 player.

Weird how 'random' trakcs always seem to turn out to be the same?

I'm not weird, I'm a limited edition.

Computers cannot generate a "true" random number ... even the Lotto uses a "Formula" that can be predicted. You will, however, need the "seed number" to help you ... and, a lot of time. :D

Your PC will/may use the Time & Date to generate a seed number and since this is a different number every time you start the program, it makes for a good seed.

Dunno if an I-Pod is capable of doing the same. ;)
