Google toolbar alternative?

Basically, what I use on the Google toolbar is web search, groups search,
word find, and highlight.

Are there any other freeware toolbars that will allow me to make these
searches? (The Google Groups searching seems to be the toughest one to find
on another searchbar). Thanks.

Firefox + GoogleBar extension.

Or even better, Firefox + smart keywords.

I find Firefox to be slow, buggy, and unstable. Anything for IE?

MyIE2 (or Maxthon as its called now) is an IE shell with a great search
bar built in. Just change the preset default search to a google search
and you are good to go.

Are you sure? Also the last version? I find it much faster than IE.
For example the back button: in my system (Windows XP Home, Intel 2.0GHz) IE
requires 3-4 seconds to show the page, FF shows it instantly.

Firefox version .092 does seem to operate significantly faster than IE and
has never caused any problems the way IE does on almost every session.
However, I am surprised to find that it seems to take just as long to load
as IE. It surprises me since I was under the impression there is less stuff
to load. On the whole, though, I am satisfied enough to know that in the
future, I will use IE reluctantly and only when there is no other way to do
what I need to do.

The Google toolbar emulator for Firefox provides 100% Google Toolbar
functionality and operates exactly like the Original. I don't know of any
IE toolbar add-ons that provide just the functions listed. I would ask the
original poster what it is about the Google toolbar he doesn't like.

I like not having to open the browser to use:

I use Google Search Tool. It lets you search Groups, Images, Web, News,
etc.

Actually, it's now called GGSearch.

It's very compact, so it doesn't get in the way, and it minimizes to the
system tray.
