LOL. Twayne can you read and comprehend? He agreed(EN59CHV) with what Ken posted as
a reply to Gordon..(The rest of us are saying that CCleaner has a place in computer
maintenance on XP.) When he is preaching the same stupid and dangerous belief as you
that Registry Cleaning is a good thing

Here is the forum I found when I had a question about Windows 7 I
could answer for myself.
I only had been using Win 7 2 days so still have much to learn about
how it all works.
I do like it very much and if you are buying new machines it is
certainly better than my single day's worth of experience helping
friend set up his Vista Home Premium OS settings.
Seemed like Vista asked for administrator to log in at every turn. Win
7 doesn't.
Minor and off topic comments.
Here is that forum which had the specific answer to my particular
question. I see it isn't exactly THE Microsoft Windows 7 help forum
but imitates it.

hi rhino.. tuff night? :)..

try: Glary Utilities, download . com
(free, does not hold back on repairs)

I only have novice experience, so just opinion: some applications
seem to stick you with miles & miles of what might call directories
in the registry, and do not delete them when you uninstall the
application, aol etc.. some utilities, security apps..

So what? They do no harm.
fall under
using registry cleaning to remove (security problems, right?), I
don't want reinstall my pc every couple minutes either, but:

have just tried something called: Glary Utilities from download . com
appears free version will fix all registry problems / not just a
portion.. but not a security app, does seem to be set up well for a
utility.

off hand: will speed up boot / start of system, running apps.. if
understand correct registry is like a batch file that is accessed
every time you want to run / start a new program, pc has to read the
whole registry every time you want to do something.

You understand wrong. The registry is NOT read sequentially. Whether it has
1000 entries or 3 million, the access time differs by, at most, a few
nanoseconds.

comparing to a super-large directory tree: is delicate / should not
mess with manually / can get corrupted easy, - and - seems like
some apps want to add everything they can to it, to take over your
system.. unquote

IF adjustments to the registry ARE appropriate, doing so manually is FAR
less risky than any so-called "cleaner."

Right. And if I may add to that, the *whole* registry is not run every
time you do something. Only what's needed is read, and with random
access to it.

IF adjustments to the registry ARE appropriate, doing so manually is FAR
less risky than any so-called "cleaner."

Right again (assuming that you have at least some knowledge of the
registry and how to edit it).

WOT lists it as a "good site" with "useful information".

Alexa is pretty happy with them as is rbls.org and other places too. They're
not on any of the top 145 blacklists and have an excellent reputation score.

So:

HOW did they trick anyone, especially the OP?

What is the point of offering a whois on them?

You attacked them but gave no evidence to support your allegations. To all
appearances you're wrong. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

No, it's a long, long ways from being just that one person. Try millions.
Just because MVPs in general and these groups have been written off by many
people because of the likes of you doesn't do a thing to improve your
credibility or usefulness. Closed minded follower sock puppets are like
that.

LOL. Actually, the "closed-minded sock puppets" which Twayne keeps
bringing up are precisely the ones who recommend routinely running registry
cleaners to "enhance performance" and "speed up the computer" (cough). By
the way, this attribute of one's calling everyone else sock-puppets .. is
known in psychology as "projection".
Millions?????? Try less than 1% of all users. Post facts not your usual
BS.

I think you forgot. He said he "posted those 'facts' already" (cough).
