Going Stir Crazy here..Plz Help

Morning all,

Please be patient with me. I am computer illiterate.I want to reinstall my
windows XP. The computer has not been working properly. I do have the
upgrade that was made available. So I put the disk in.

Setup cannot continue because the version of Windows on your computer is
newer than the version on the CD.

Warning: If you decide to delete the newer version of Windows that is
currently installed on your computer, the files and settings cannot be
recovered.

I dont have the option to continue, just cancel.
I wonder if it is because I downloaded the upgrade for xp? what do you
think? Is there a way I can go ahead and do it anyway?

Please offer some help.

I wish I could provide more expert help than I can, but I think you have to
try to boot from the xp-cd, format your C: hard-drive, and then innstall a
fresh innstallation.. It will probably not boot from your cd by default, but
you may change this if you enter some setup during regular boot..
