I'm trying to do my part, but I cannot get any Power Saver mode, such as
SYSTEM STANDBY, to work. TURN OFF MONITOR works, but nothing else in the
Power Schemes mode.

A couple times I've been able to get the SYSTEM STANDBY to work once. But
then it reverts to not working. I have no idea what I did to get it to work
even once. I've tried various delay times and looked to see if there is
something in one of the "setup" menus that I'm missing. Can't find anything
that does any good.

Help!!??

Usually it's some activity going on in the system, like a "Wake On LAN"
setting in the bios, or some email check, or background defrag, or whatever.
Check Task Manager for running processes before trying standby timeout.

I can't find anything. But, there must be something else wrong because I
finally gave up and chose to go manually into standby mode by going to START,
SHUT DOWN, and then choosing STANDBY. OK, the computer goes into standby.
But, when I press a key to wake it up, it sometimes (not always) completely
reboots. I'm starting to think that I may have to clean off my hard drive
and reinstall everything including the Windows XP operating system.
