.gif files not showing

I recently installed sbc/yahoo dsl and everything was fine
at first but now the browser will not display gif files on
a website. Ive tried turning of the multimedia options
closing IE and then turning them back on again but that
has not worked. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mark

I have a similar problem with BellSouth DSL
installation...on some websites I get no graphics from
Internet Explorer, just small red x's. So far I have
found that this is an "encoding" problem. In Internet
Explorer if you go to View, Encoding, and make sure Auto
Select is on this may help. On some pages, changing the
dot from Western (ISO) to Western (European) for encoding
type corrected the page and graphics appeared. I have not
found an automatic solution yet though so it won't happen
again.
