Ghost 2003 - Maxtor OneTouch III

I have a Maxtor OneTouch II HD and it works just great with Norton
Ghost 2003.
This HD is formatted FAT32.

Just purchased a Maxtor OneTouch III HD for additional backup, this
drive is formatted NTFS, I can access it just fine under XP SP2 but
cannot get Ghost to create an image file, always returns error 'Sector
Read Failure'.

According to Symantec, I should be able to write to NTFS, I have Ghost
updated to 2003 793.

Anybody else got this issue?
Thanks!

Sorry, forgot to mention that I'm at my second OneTouch III HD, both
return the same error.

I have found a few times that when I have a problem creating an image of a
drive, if I run chkdsk with the /f option on said drive, the image can then
be completed when tried again. If the drive you are trying to image has a
problem, it can cause the imaging program to fault out when working with
that drive.
