I'm getting Verizon DSL this week and I have a question. I'm getting
ambiguous answers from Verizon on whether or not I can install and get my
DSL connection running using the in house XP network installer as opposed to
using their software CD. One tech says yes. One says no.
Can someone answer this for me please, and/or point me to a link that will
give me step by step instructions to make a manual installation in XP. I
have a feeling that when it comes time to do the installation and I'm on the
phone with Verizon, I might find that having this information in my hand
will be useful :-)
Many thanks
Dudley

There are also great user forums at DSL Reports. Here's the main page
with loads of links to goodness:

All you need is a username and password for a DSL connection. Rarely do you
need an ISP's software to conenct to a DSL account.

Thank you. I take it you can just use the network wiz and follow the PPoE
path?

It depends on the modem you get. That's why I directed you to DSL
Reports. They have information on using DSL without installing the
ISP's software.

Thanks. I found it there as you suggested.
