Getting rid of programs in a Dell

This PC is a couple of years old, given to me. I'd like
to clean our all of the junk. It runs Windows ME. I've
tried to uninstall a lot of the junk but I inadvertently
uninstall drivers too. It's a Dell and therefore has a
bunch of intrusive stuff which seems important. How can I
get rid of this 'Dell' stuff. I'd really like to reformat
but it won't and says there's another prgram running. I'm
asuming there are other OS on it.

For the person who suggester Windows Washer, that doesn't
do it but thanks!

Hope someone can help me.

Thanks for the Dell site Mike. I went into dos and typed
format c:. That's where I was told that there was another
program running. I was baffled and could only think that
maybe there was another win version on the computer. I've
formatted other PCs without a problem.

Val,
You need to restart in DOS Mode from your WinMe bootdisk,
then follow the instructions in the link I provided ....
