getting rid of anyforwrding marks or blue lines

I like to clean up any e-mail I send, but I cannot seem to get rid of the
blue line on the left of the message screen. Can anyone tell me how to do
this?

That vertical blue line indicates you are quoting HTML text from
the forwarded message.
First, make sure you are not adding a blue line yourself when you
forward or reply: Go to Tools, Options, Send, HTML Settings,
uncheck "Indent messages on reply".

Next, if any blue lines remain in the compose screen, click Format,
Plain Text,. That will strip all HTML elements.

Just go and highlight the text that is indented and then click on the
decrease indent button on the formatting toolbar to remove the line.

Doesn't work for me either, and I tested it extensively before
replying in this thread.
