I Recently Purchased A Dell With XP Home. I Have A
Machine That Has A PC Driven Controller & Dos Based
Software. I Have Loaded The Software, But Need To Get Out
Of Windows To A DOS Prompt. When I Go To The Command
Prompt, Through Windows, It Does Not Allow Me To Do What
I Need To Do. Please Help.

Windows XP is not based on DOS, therefore you can't out
of Windows XP and boot into DOS because it ain't there.

But Isn't The System DOS Based? How Does The Machine
Know How To Look For Logical Drives Without DOS?

People DOS is dead so forget it remember Williams send off.

The Nt kernel based OS's like NT?2k/XP are all the same and it will not let
you get out of the main GUI.

If you must use DOS then boot with a 9x floppy with NTFStoDOS on it.
