Get S/N of HDD

I programming on VB6 in Windwos2K, but i cann't get the
real serial number of the hard disk.

Anyone can help me ?
 
Im wondering if you tried using the system information
utility to query that info from the OS .. Also if your
running an intel motherboard , you can download the Intel
Application Accelerator and it too tells you the serial
number of your hard drive somewhere in that application
 
Not all HD's support this feature.

I hope you're not depending on it...

May be better to get the disk label or volume, but
there is no guarantee that this will be unique.

AThe only three ways i know of is to get the serial

number off the store Reciept, (Most have it) The Box it
came in pull the hard drive.. Sorry!!
