Get rid of dual boot

W

Wayne Brown

I have been dual booting with Win98 &2000. I have reached the point where
Win98 is now redundant and would like to be rid of it and free up the
partition.

Win98 is on C and Win2000 is on E. I would like to keep my current Win2000
where I have everything set up the way I need it.

Is this possible or will I have to reformat everything and start over???

In Windows 2000, open a CMD.EXE prompt and type
attrib -r -s -h c:\boot.ini
Edit the boot.ini file in notepad and remove the Windows 98 entry.
delete the c:\windows folder and c:\program Files.
