General Protection Fault Errors

I bought a computer program for my son. Everytime I try
to install it on my computer I get the following
message. I have Windows XP Home Edition. If anyone can
be of assistance in fixing the problem I would be very
greatful.

WOWEXEC has caused a General Protection Fault in module
MMSYSTEM.DLL at 000A:0032
