When I log out of Windows XP, I often get a message that
gcasserv.exe is not closing properly. Is there anything I
can do to fix this?

You could try uninstalling Microsoft AntiSpyware and do a reinstall. Its
possible that process has not shutdown properly resulting in the error
message, especially if Microsoft AntiSpyware was open.
