I am using Window 2000. After I used it for a while and have a dozen
windows open. The windows title bars start to show garbled text and
the icons start to lose color and shape. I think this is a resource
issue. But Windows 2000 should not have the same 64k limit as
95/98/ME. And where is it documented if it is because the resource
low?
BTW, I do have plenty of memory. Each time the Windows does it, it is
using only half of the physical memory.

Thanks

I would say try lowering the desktop color depth and or resolution and
see if that cures it.

Desktop color depth and resolution are mostly related to the video
card. I am using a nVidia GeForce card with 64MB memory, which should
be more than enough covering my the color and resolution. I was using
a 8MB generic card, and did not seem to have so many problems.

Could it be a junky video card?

Hi,
Garbled text in the title bar could be caused by a virus Eg: Redolf. Use Norton or some trusted AV. Also you can manually delete the folder.htt and desktop.ini files, which are created by the virus, in every folder.
The command that can be used is C:\folder.htt /s /ah

Thanx.
