Has anyone had problems starting Games?

Most of the games, including the two that I was interested in, Mahjong and
Solitare, won't start. They quickly open and close a window. Too quickly
to see what, if anything, it says.

I suspect that this is because I have a 32 Meg video card that won't support
Aero Glass, but that's just a guess.

When I try to start the DVD program, it actually pops up a message block
that says I can't run it because my video card does not support Aero Glass.

I hope that someone who does not have Aero Glass will try this to see what
results they get, and that someone else who does have Aero Glass will also
try it to see what results they get.

I have filled out a feedback report on this, but of course I was not able to
say if it was connected to Aero Glass.

Hi,

What version of windows Vista do you use ? In my memories, there was a known
bug with games launched using an administrator account. have you tried with
a standard user ?

I am using Windows Vista Beta 2, x86, Build 5384.

I don't have a 64 bit processor.

I used the default user account, but I will create a standard user and try
it.

Thanks.

They all work here fine on x64 suing the default account that I set up
during Install(which is the system administrator) I have disabled UAC
though.

I would also guess that it is your video card. These pieces were rewritten
to be pretty...probably taking advantage of the Aero Glass functionality.

Can you list system specs? Any "different" software you might have
installed?

I created a standard user and retried the games.

Chess Titans and InkBall load and play.

Free Cell, Hearts, Mahjong Titans, Mine Sweeper, Public Place, Solitare, and
Spider Solitaire load whad looks like a Command Window, which closes after
1/2 to 1 second.

Your vid card doesn't even meet the min. system reqs for Vista..my guess is
that's your culprit.
