Games Freezing\Stuttering

Hi

I have just added a new Graphics card a Geforce 6 6600 and some
additional memory but have started to experince problems. I have
updated the graphics card driver to the latest version but still having
problems. Whilst playing games like DOOM/Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 and
Halflife that would run fine before they have started to freeze since
installing the additional memory and new graphics card. The PC totally
freezes and CTRL\Alt Del does not work. Also I play Microsoft Flight
Simulator alot and notice that after a while mainly during long flights
I start to experience a dramatic drop in gameplay. The flight is okay
for the first few hours and runs beautifully but then it starts to
stutter so severley I have to shut the flight down.

Any ideas what may be causing this.

My Specs are
768 MB ram
80GIG Hardrive
Geforce 6 6600 Graphics Card

Things to check:

1. What power supply do you have? If you have an older psu then try a newer
one with more wattage. This would be my first step. A 250W psu that coped
just fine with your onboard video won't cut it with the new card.

2. Make sure you used the right RAM for your motherboard.

3. Make sure you attached the additional power supply connector to the video
card (if it needs one and IIRC that card does).

4. Check your case for overheating. Perhaps you have a machine that worked
fine with a less powerful video card that produced less heat but the puny
case fan can't handle the upgrade.
