Games Explorer

A lot of my games didn't download art etc in the game explorer on Vista.

After much messing I found the registry key's where all the info is sitting,
but it seems to ignore any changes I make except for title. If I change any
of the fields, the changes won't be reflected in the explorer, unless I
change title, where refreshing shows the new value straight away.

Also after some google'ing around a bit, I found out all of Vista's (legacy)
game info comes from 'http://www.allmediaguide.com/' which surprised me
because all of the games that won't update are listed on there.

I noted in the registry a key called "WMGameId" and on the media guide I
noted an "AMG Game ID", does anyone know the relationship between the 2, like
how to change the WMGameId so it will download the necessary info.

Ok, that question makes no sense, but hopefully you can see what I'm getting
at.

Hmmmm...

did a little research as its bugging me Vista Ultimate doesnt pick up all my games..

I have somthing like 30+ plus installed and it only picks up bout 9.. Oh well..

Feel free to design your own little reg keys for all you games.. I mean.. if your like me and have 30+ games.. You should wait till some other sucker does it first

Until we get past the teething issue with Vista I wouldnt expect anything other than the "1000" games tested before release to show up in the games folder...

PS...

On a note.. I just added Resident Evil 4 to the directory... It generated a key
" {FF86DE5A-16E0-407B-8120-ADF8DF009803} "
The program is named "game.exe"

Obv... I dragged from directory
"C:\Program Files (x86)\CAPCOM\resident evil 4"
Im guessing if you add the following strings in regedit

"BoxArt" "Description" "DeveloperName" "DeveloperURL" "Genre"
"PublisherName" "PublisherURL" "ReleaseCountry" "ReleaseDate" and
"Title!

You should be able to emulate an official looking peice of Vista eye candy.

Forget it.. once u edit the install type... to anything other than 4 the Icon will disappear..
