Games crash/reboot pc

Z

Ziyaad

My system:
P4 2.4GHZ
MSI 651 MOBO
512MB DDR333 RAM
Prolink NVIDIA Geforce FX-5600 AGP 8X (but my board only
supports 4X)
6 Cooling Fans
4 Exhaust Blowers

Whenever I play games my pc always crashes at random
times either to the desktop or reboots. I've downloaded
DirectX 9b, installed latest NVIDIA drivers (v.53.03),
installed more cooling, got the latest drivers for ALL my
hardware & even exchanged the graphics card for a new one.

Nothing seems to work
Please Help;

Hi Ziyaad,

I hope you have at least a 450 W power supply for your system.
Your system could be restarting as a result of a STOP error though:

To stop this behavior and to analyse the error, try the steps in
this article: http://www.mvps.org/marksxp/windowsxp/bsod.htm

If the error indicates a file name that begins with ati, or nv (nVidia)
the most likely solution would be to install the latest drivers using
the instructions at: http://mvps.org/nibblesnbits/Video.html#drivers
which might be a different method than what you used to install the
53.03's on your system. Also update your chipset drivers as well.
