Game doesn't recognize CD

Hello, I just re-installed a game for my son after getting my computer back
from having the hard drive cleared. The game installed and worked once fine,
but now when we put the disk in it starts then flicks to a black screen with
a green box that says "cd check. please insert disk into cd drive," and at
the bottom, "quit" or "retry." The problem is, the cd IS in, and clicking
"retry" does nothing. I've also tried starting the game with no disk and
inserting the disk at this prompt but it doesn't work. I've updated all my
drivers and re-installed directX but this message keeps appearing. Any
suggestions?

Go to megagames.com and check in the PC Games section for a No-CD crack so
the game doesn't even look for a cd is best solution IMHO. Note : usually
the cracks are version specific so npay attention if you've downloaded a
patch/upgrade for the game.
