Game controller

I have windows Xp home edition. I was wondering if the X box game controller would work if I connected it to a usb port on my cpu. there both made by microsoft any info would be appreciated thanks.
 
Different connections. You might search around. I've heard of some
adapters, but how successful they are I don't know.

I have tested a couple different adapters with Xbox controllers in the lab
and they haven't had anything major wrong with them that I have seen.
