I have a cable modem, it doesn't take longer than 5
second for most any page to fully download but I have to
wait 20-40 seconds before I'm able to do anything! I had
optimum on line on the phone and did the whole
cookies...virtual memory....delete this....lower that
thing and nothing. I restored the system to the day
before it all started, I turned off any security,
firewall, spybot thing I could find. NOTHING!
It took me 15 minutes to get here! I was going to delete
IE 6 and reinstall it but the computer, for whatever
reason, won't accept my damn product key!!!!!!! (Yes it
was purchased legally)
Does anyone have a clue what in the hell is going on?
Does any one have a sledge hammer they can lend me??

I am having the same problem. Every page I go to hangs
for 20-40 Seconds. This started suddenly on friday Feb
27th. I had not downloaded nor installed anything to
cause this. Ran full Virus check, Spy/ad ware check and
nothing. Anyone have any suggestions?

I am having the same problems as well and the only thing
that I can think of is going back to IE 5.5. This version
of IE never gave me problems like 6.0. Gotta love microsoft

I've been having the same problem for the last 3 days at
least. What happens is when I log on the internet (I have
dial-up), I have to wait for the page to fully load and
then wait at least 30 seconds to click any link on the
page. The load bar will say that the page is done loading,
but I still have to wait another 30 seconds or so! This is
getting really frustrating. I've done many things to see
if I could resolve this, just as you have. Just about
everything you did to try to fix it, I have tried also.
Maybe alot of other people are having the same problem?
I'm hoping its an internet problem instead of a major
problem with my computer. Good Luck to you! ...er... to
all of us.

i too have been having the same problem lately...

First eliminate any scumware.
See
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
CWShredder is also available here:

**Post your HijackThis log to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ or the Spyware forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/ for expert analysis, not here.**
Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page:

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

GOOD NEWS....Went to www.spysweeper.com and downloaded
that program...It found things that ad-aware, Hijack
This, and Spykiller 3000 missed. After sweeping with it
(took about 45 minutes) the problem was gone. Hope this
helps ya'll too :-)
