Whatever web / site you have open and working in, your page will be saved. You were prompted to
login when you access your site via the Edit with IE command, correct?

To publish, File Menu | Publish web / site and enter the location of your current local copy.

Yes, i had to login when i opened the guestbook page with FP but for some
reason it has called it the default new page 1. I've changed this on page
properties and when i want to close it prompts me for name and place to save.

Then it doesn't sound like you were logged in to your live/remote server, since you shouldn't have
been prompted to login to save, etc.

You need to contact your web host and ask them to run a server health check and check the
permissions on your account.

One more thing, it said when i opened the page for editing that the
"guestbook" page doesnt exist on this site and opened the new template. but
the guestbook page is there cos it is visible on the web :S
Even now i created a new guestbook and saved it to the web (i discovered how)
but again now when i opened it to edit it says its not there.
