Frontpage Express replacement for XP

K

Was wondering if anyone could tell me what MS product took the place
of Frontpage Express?? The version I got of Express is from 97 and I
figured MS might have a newer version of it or something to replace
it.

TIA

There was no replacement. It was dropped years ago. And now the paid
versions of FrontPage have been replaced with the paid version of Expression
Web.

It is called Visual Web Developer Express Edition. You can download it from
here:

http://www.microsoft.com/express/vwd/

The learning curve is likely to be very steep if you are not a programmer.

If you have Frontpage Express edition then keep it as it is not available
for download from MS but it is available from certain universities which I
shall not reveal here. You could download FP 2003 from piratebay.org!!

Consider using NVU from Mozilla. It's free and creates/edits web pages
with a wysiwyg interface.

I've used NVU. It was a decent program, and I was generally happy with
it. But it's limited in what it can do. When the web site I was
maintaining got ASP in it, I had to switch away from it--initially to
Front Page, and now to Expression Web.

Thanks all. I just want something simple to publish kids, grandkids,
pets ETC. Nothing major or complicated.

My present page is at http://users.ameritech.net/lestark/ if
interested in seeing what and how I use it. I know nothing about
markup or whatever or code or whatever. I just insert pics and stuff.
My son made the boxes to go to different pages or I would just have
one page.

Thanks all again.

Find a copy of FP2002 or FP2003 and use that. They still work.

I was presented with a "site unsafe" warning for a potentially dangerous
file named "freddy.exe" on the site located at http://
ppp-68-20-4-43.dsl.emhril.ameritech.net/.element/ssi/sect/2.0/MAIN/setup.exe.

Whether it was or not, I went no further.

NVU replaced by Komposer (and improved on)
