Frontpage 2003 / Problem viewing imported gif's etc.

Hello,

I have a strange problem .. can't view some .png, gif, jpg, and wmz files in
FP 2003. I imported the files which were created by Publisher 2003 but
cannot see them in FP. I FTP my files to my web site and can see them in
the FTP process.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

ps .. I have set the option in FP to view hidden files to no avail.

Apologies is this is not the correct newsgroup for this question.

.._..

1) NEVER access a FrontPage web site with FTP. You will damage, corrupt, or
destroy it doing that.

2) See above, you probably busted up the files that FrontPage uses to show
you the index in the explorer-like interface in FrontPage. Try
recalculating hyperlinks and using the refresh key a bunch of times. If
that fails, reinstall the FrontPage extensions. (Then stop using FTP)

A link would help. There might be a simple path issue going on. But
chances are you broke the site.

Publisher will place the files in a folder named pagename_files, where
pagename ids the name of the associated page. Folders with names like
pagename_files are ALWAYS hidden in FrontPage. The only way to see them
(in FrontPage) is to use Windows Explorer to remove them from the folder
and then use FrontPage to Import them into a different folder - and then
correct any broken links to them.

Thank you for your reply ... fyi, I always use ftp, it is what works for me
best. I do not have Front Page Extensions. I have been using this method
for years with different versions of FrontPage, this is the only version
that gives me a problem. I am an infrequent user of FrontPage, mainly using
it to take a calendar created in Publisher, make minor changes as necessary
and then upload it to my web space, I use it on and off to upload greeting
cards to my web space also, and as I stated this has worked perfectly in the
past. I have never damaged, corrupted or destroyed my web pages so far and
have not done that now.

Are the images RGB or generated as CYMK?

They must be RGB for the web.
