FTP login

I'm unable to open my hosted website in FP using http. They're working on it, but no
fix yet.
I thought I'd use FP and FTP to log on.
After I enter my ID and password, FP tells me "Frontpage does not support opening
files from FTP servers".
I'm not trying to open a file, just sign in so I can publish to my local box, do some
work, and publish back. Is FP capable of doing this? If so, how?

TIA, Mike

You can publish to a live/remote server via FP's FTP mode, however you can not open a live/remote
site in FP via FTP.

You will need to use a 3rd Party FTP application to open the site, then download the site, however
once you have the site downloaded via FTP, if you have using any FP themes, navigation components,
etc. you will have to recreate / redo etc.
