Frontpage 2003- How do I get rid of some code on design view?

Front page 2003 closed on me with an error message, I failed to comprehend
what it said. When I reopened the website I was working on there appears to
be a code on a page I created. I tried different views and changing
selections on the page options tools. I am unable to hide them. If I delete
them then an object that I had inserted in the page is deleted. What can i
do to hide or remove this?

Select the code in Design view, then Switch to Code view and delete it
- then re-insert your object

I appreciate your help. I did as you suggested but when I reinserted the
object the codes returned as well. I have been using copy and paste and have
been having trouble in general in getting objects to stay where I place them
or even getting them to move where I want them. Text boxes don't stay the
same when I paste them in either.

I orginially started using Publisher to design a website then found it was
very limited so I've been trying to just copy it over to Front Page and it's
not as easy as I thought.

Any recommendations you can give me would be helpful. Thanks

Try reinserting the code in html/code view, not the object on the page.
Also, do not use text boxes. They aren't cross browster compatible, will
cause nothing but problems, and are not html compliant.

You are going to waste a LOT of time trying to migrate Publisher "code" -
just start clean in FP.

Tom,

I did as you suggested and the image did appear in design. The image does
not show up on the preview page.

Do I need to create text boxes in front page or do I use the tables to
insert my message?

This is my first attempt at creating a website. Can you recommend any
books, video or training that gives a solid quick start to Front Page 2003?
I am good with Publisher and Power Point but am having a difficult time
trying to just jump into Front Page and learn on the fly.

Use tables, do not ever use text boxes or word art. And, as Rob said, you
really need to start from scratch instead of trying to integrate Publisher
code.
