frontpage 2003 Opening files

Hello,
I've started creating a website in frontpage 2003, I had gone as far
as the front page with buttons, text and a picture. I then closed it
and reopened it later, it has opened all the files separatly (index
page, picture file etc) under the 'web site' tab, but when i try to
open the whole website it only allows me to open separate files. My
picture i had with it doesnt open with the front page and when i click
on the image file it shows it in Microsoft Office picture manager :(
I cant get it all to open together like when i was first started
creating it...Why is this?
Thanks for yourt help peoples...

A web site is a collection of separate files (web pages, images, css
files and others) that are meshed together as in a web.
What you see in Folder View and in the folder list are those folders and
files.

FrontPage is not an image editor, it cannot edit images. When you open
an image in FrontPage it will "divert" the image to an image editor - in
your case MS Picture Manager. The editor used can be changed in
Tools->Options - Configure Editors tab

When you open the Page in FrontPage, in design view you will see where
the image has been placed - it should display as the picture, but
sometimes as a placeholder. If it only shows as a placeholder, then
what type of image is it - what extension? If a .jpg, was it created as
RGB or CYMK - You can only use RGB on the web.

The files and Folders you are seeing is as it should be. Open the home
page and everything you placed in it should be there. If you look in
code view, you will only find a reference to the images, not the images
themselves.

I suggest you learn a little HTML - try the tutorials at
http://www.w3schools.com
Also use split view - this will show how the page is coded when you add
bits to it.

Finally - always open the whole website before opening any files in the
website.

- Show quoted text -

Hi thanks for the help,
Have looked at all the advice and the pic is a RGB. When i open the
index page to work on it the buttons etc come up but the pic doesnt
show up with it, its there as a file but doesnt attach its self to the
index page where i created it. When i look at the index page in
preview the pic is still not there??? When i first started the index
page i had gotten as far as added a pic, buttons and text, now when i
go back to it everything opens up except the pic....???
I understand FP doesnt edit the pic and when i created the pic i did
so in another program, why doesnt it open with the index page or show
up in preview?
Cheers

Is the page published anywhere? If so, please provide a link.
Otherwise please post the HTML code relating to the image (plus a few
lines before and after will help) along with any relevant CSS or
JavaScript.
