FrontPage 2000

I built a website in FrontPage 2000 with bellsouth.net as the server. I
changed my server from bellsouth.net to comcast.net. I cannot upload the
website to comcast.net because bellsouth is case sensitive and comcast is
not. When uploading to comcast using FTP the progress is stopped because of
duplicate files. When I go into FrontPage to rename or delete the files, I
get an error message and it will not allow me to rename or delete the
questioned files. These are not my files but are files generated by the
FrontPage program. They are "vdsbackup" files "startbackup. gif" and
"restore.gif". How do I rename or delete these files?

I have never seen these files generated by any version of FrontPage. If
they reside on the server they are probably created by Comcast with
permissions that prevent renaming or deletion.

Create folders and files with the same names (they can be empty files or
very small images) in your local web, then right click each file,
Choose Properties, then on the Workgroup tab select "Exclude this file
when publishing the rest of the web".

FrontPage should then ignore them.

If vdsbackup is a folder, create the folder in your local web, and right
click the folder and choose "Convert to web"
Then when you publish choose to not publish subwebs.

Thank You for responding to my post.

When I tried to create the files in question, an error message appeared
(when I tried to exclude it from publishing using the workgroup tab)saying:
"server error: cannot creat folder "_vti_cnf". This is the message I always
get when trying to do anything with the files.
