Publishing with Frontpage

Hi: Bought my Frontpage 2003 last year, updated my computer to Vista and now
I'm unable to publish my website to my remote server. I keep getting error
messages indicating that my FP extensions are not installed (they are) or the
proxy server settings have been changed (they're not). My host told me to
try SmartFTP (which I did) and I was able to upload my files to the server,
but now my Index.htm will not upload. I've gone to the server, deleted the
file from there, gone back to My Computer, updated the file, and tried to
reload through FTP again, and the Index.htm still shows an older version
(like its ignoring my updates). Can someone help me?

Before I fork out hundreds of dollars on a web developer, can someone
suggest how to upload files through Frontpage? I never had this problem when
I had FP 2000. Is it Vista + 2003? Is that the problem?

Thanks so much!!!

Check and make sure there's not another file named index.html, default.htm
or default.html on the server. Index.htm may not be set up as your default
home page. Ask you host to verify what the default home page name should be.
Also, if you've been using FTP you may have corrupted the FrontPage
Extensions. Ask your host to run a repair on them and then try publish with
FrontPage using HTTP

Thanks David & Ronx for responding:

I have the firewall through LiveOne Care and I don't see it blocking
Frontpage, but just in case, here are the versions they're running:

11.0.6552.0 and 11.0.5516.0 (there are two, does that mean anything?)

Also, I looked at the ports, there is no "Port 80", I'm only running 1 port,
which is "ICMP Outbound". Does that mean anything?

I haven't received a response yet from my host re: the Index.htm problem,
but I'm still unable to publish through Frontpage. Here is the following
error message I receive:

Unable to open:
1) The web server may not have FP ext installed (they are)
2) The web server may be temporarily out of service (they're not)
3) If you are connecting through a proxy server, the proxy settings may be
incorrect. (?)
4) An error may have occured in the web server

Help!

Open Windows Live OneCare
- Change OneCare Settings
- Firewall Tab - Advanced Settings
See if FrontPage is listed as Allowed, if not Add it (to any computer)

Or try disabling the firewall and see if that works
