Front Page looses theme and navigation information

For some considerable time I have known that if I loose my local copy of
a web site I cannot download a copy from the host, or from a backup disc
since Front Page will not show the theme settings or navigation structure.

Now I have just found that a web site I designed only 4 months ago has
lost all its theme and structural information, and this web site has not
even been moved from its original location.

Where is this information stored and how do I stop loosing it.

Why not? If the hosted website has FPextensions open the web in FrontPage
and Publish to your PC. If the backup does not restore themes and
navigation, then it is not a backup - change your backup program to one
that works! There is a good one built into Windows 2000, Windows XP Pro
and Windows 2003, on the install discs for Windows XP Home, Windows 95,
Windows 98, Windows ME.

The information is stored within the website. To stop loosing [sic] (do
you mean losing?) the information:

1) Always open the website in FrontPAge before opening a page

2) Always File->Import files (documents, images etc.) into the web before
using them on a page.

3) Never use any program other than FrontPage to edit, or move pages or
other files in the web. A graphics editor should be used to modify
graphics, but this can be set up as a FrontPage "helper" using
Tools->Options - Configure Editors.
