How to replace index page.

Is it possible to create a new index page with the same theme/navigation
structure as the site(front page 2003). Don't ask but I managed to loose it.
I have the site but would like to like to create a new front page, if that
makes sense.
Thanks

It should only be a matter of creating a new page, saving it as index.htm
and applying the theme as per any other new page you add.

Has the site been published to a web server? If so, then you could
alternatively publish the index.htm file on the server back to your local
web. You didn't say from which web the page was lost (local or remote
server).

If you're working only on the live web, I suggest you publish your web back
to your computer and work on the local copy - so this sort of thing doesn't
happen again....in case your host's systems go down, you'll be without a
backup if you rely on their system alone, without a copy on your local
computer.

Also in future, get into the habit of backing up your data files (including
your web sites) e.g. to external HDD or Flash drive or some other external
storage medium.

Thanks so much, it was my fault and I remembered I had actually backed up the
site and had a copy. It's a learning experience.
