front page and vista

I just installed fp2002 on my new vista prem. machine. I cant open php or
html files. When I try to while using the fp program, php files open in a new
window with note pad. When I try to open php files from the explore page
using the "open with" option, front page isn't an option. When I manually add
fp as a option the files don't open. But if I surf a website using explorer,
I can go to file and click "edit with FrontPage" and the page will open just
fin. If anyone could help I would appreciate it.

Did you use the configure editors from within FP? To change it outside of
FP, you need to do it in Windows. FP's settings as an editor only work
within FP. I found a decent article on how to change a windows file
extension association at:
http://articles.techrepublic.com.com/5100-10877_11-6172036.html The reason
you can easily open a PHP page when browsing online is the simple fact that,
to IE or FP, it's not a PHP page. It's already been processed by the web
server and is plain HTML to FP or IE.

Keep in mind though, FP is not a PHP editor and can mangle your code because
it's just not designed to parse it.
