freezing

My computer is freezing. Windows will open partially then it all stops. I try
to close the window and nothing happens, sometimes even Ctrl alt del does not
work. I go to talk manager and try to end tasks and this does not work. I
have to turn the computer off with the power button and start again. Is there
anything that might be causing this? I have spyware and antivirus which is up
to date and shows no problems. please help

This sounds like a hardware problem, although it really is impossible to
tell without looking at the computer. Here are some hardware

Testing hardware failures often involves swapping out suspected parts with
known-good parts. If you can't do the testing yourself and/or are
uncomfortable opening your computer, take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigStoreUSA).
