Copy and paste the following into your Notepad and save as explorer.reg on
your Desktop and then right click it and select merge to merge to your
registry:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
"Shell"="explorer.exe"

Reboot your machine, does it help?
If it doesn't then try to run this command:
sfc /scannow
HTH,
nass

Hi,

Check to see if this box is checked, if so uncheck it.

Control Panel/Folder Options/View

Automatically search for network folders and printers

Also check Start/Run - msconfig and services - uncheck accordingly.

nucleus

are you running AVG or Zonealarm? if so, disable them one at a time
to
determine if one is the culprit.

M

_Muadib_

I´m not using AVG or Zonealarm. The XP taskar (explorer) freezes or hangs
after the xp being reinstall and keeps doing that after all the XP updates
are done.
