Freezing

During the last week, the screen has been freezing constantly...like every
ten minutes. I never had this issue before and can't figure out what is
causing it. To end the freeze, I've been hitting Ctrl, Alt and Delete and
most of the time even that won't unfreeze the screen for several minutes or
more.

I am using a Dell with Windows XP and I've never had a single issue with it
until this week, no new program have been installed nor have I downloaded any
new programs in at least six months.

I've ran all the basic test, made sure it wasn't hit with a virus (though
yesterday I turned on the computer to find my antivirus disable), ran adware
and spybot. Ran a ewido.

Any help would be greatly appreiciated.

OK......so I DO need to type something...
My puter is doing the exact same thing but in this instance it only freezes
when I right click on an empty space so as to access Properties. I get the
hour glass and it does not go away. If I try to access anything else it
seems to make things worse. I CAN access Control/Alt/Delete and reboot but
it takes a long time. This is also a very new problem and I have run SpyBot,
Adaware, AVG Antivirus and while I did find some thigns and corrected them
(ad entries) this has not taken care of the problem. By the way, I can
access Properties from Control Panel with no problem....it's just right
clicking on the desktop that causes the freeze. Wondering if you have the
same issues specifically.......

No I don't have that issues at all. It freezes just about anyplace on the web
I might click onto. But no problems with Properities. I just ran Hijack and
sent it to have someone knowledgeable with this to look and see if anything
shows up there.
