freezing up

I just had windowsxp and more memory installed on my
5710 compaq computer. It was working great and was
running faster. Then I got a update on windows security
packages. and i installed all they said to. Now am
freezing up and it takes a while to download and install
things.What do I do now?

Remove the nasty you downloaded.
