Freeze every 5 minutes

Every 5 minutes exactly my computer will freeze, all the
title bars gray out, I can't type anything for 5-10
seconds.
It doesn't matter what program I'm using, all are
affected. Indexing is turned off.
Any ideas where to look for the problem?
 
Do you have to Restart or does it unfreeze by itself? How much Ram do you
have?
