I just called MS customer service because I just paid them $10.75 for a
SP1 CD. They said that the new Windows Security Update CD does *not*
include SP1 for Windows XP. If anyone does get a free CD that includes
SP1 for Windows XP, please post back here.

Thanks,

D.C.

Perhaps Torgeir was mistaken with the statement "and SP4 for Windows 2000 /
SP1 for Windows XP". Microsoft did not consider (strangely enough) Service
Packs critical updates - at least not in the SUS server - until recently
(past 6 months) - so... Well...

Good point though. Why should you have to pay $10 for a CD everyone else is
getting free and with MORE stuff on it to boot?

Hi

MS customer service is mistaken.

The CD contains SP1a for WinXP and SP4 for Win2k, the files are placed
in the folder Content\Fullfixes on the CD.

Cheers Tedd,

I did try to find it...honest !!!!!!

I have even fired an email off to MS support, but it seems academic now as I
have just ordered the CD from the URL you provided.

thanks again

Hey Temor,
I am not doubting that you tried to find it, it was very well hidden ! I
guess Microsoft wanted to put the UK people up to a challenge and see if
anyone could find it :)
Glad you got it and hope you like the new CD. Sure beats downloading !
