the bottom, and follow the links to their feedback web form if you
really want Microsoft to hear anything you say.
It was free. They were and are under no obligation to continue the
service. Go find another freebie alternative.

I missed the part about bringing back the *POP3* access. Actually
"never was" isn't correct. It has been almost 2-1/2 years since
Microsoft dropped POP3 access to Hotmail; see http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,101981,00.asp. When Microsoft
first bought Hotmail in 1997
(http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/1997/Dec97/Hotmlpr.asp),
there was POP3/SMTP access but Microsoft dropped it and converted to
HTTP-only access using their WebDAV scripting. But 2-1/2 years is near
"never" regarding *freebie* services.
