Free/Busy Not Updating: Manual Send/Receive is Grayed Out

Dear Microsoft,

I am having a problem with my Free/Busy information not being updated
properly. In the "small calendar" only meetings/appointments created in the
current Outlook session appear in . As soon as I close and restart
Outlook, the free/busy information disappears.

I have tried the Start>Run> solution but this did not fix the problem. I
have also tried to manually Send/Receive the Free/Busy Information
(Tools:Send/Receive:Free/Busy Information), but the option is grayed out.

Any reasons as to why this is happening?

Kathleen,

I have tried both switches to no avail. I am using Outlook 2003 via
Exchange. Something that may help...today I logged into the account via
exchange webmail. The dates with events show up in on the small
calendar, but the free/busy information does not show up when checking my
availability while trying to schedule meetings.

Have you brought this up to your Exchange Admin? Have you checked to see what
the Free/Busy polling option is set at? Tools > Options > Calendar >
free/busy options.

Kathleen,

I have brought this up with our IT department, and they had no ideas. The
Free/Busy options are currently set to 3 months/15 minutes (but I have tried
it at 0 months to 12 months and 2 minutes to 99 minutes but it made no
difference).

The two features of what is happening that may be most informative are:

1.) If I add a new event, it will show up in my Appointment Scheduling
calendar only until I close Outlook and reopen it. Then, it just appears as
"Free".

2.) The Send/Recieve>Free/Busy Information button under <Tools> is grayed out.

Is it possible that this is a server issue? My IT Department assures me they
have made no changes in the server since well before I began having problems.
