I have FP2002 and Windows XP. I want to install FP
extenions. I understand that I must install IIS. How does
SharePoint services enter into this? Do I need to install
this too?

Any information appreciated.
Thanks!

First. make sure yuo hav Windows XP Professional, and not
Windows XP Home.

Then, install IIS from Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs,
Add/Remove Windows Components.

Then, download and install the latest version of the
server extensions from:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/

Windows SharePoint Services only runs on Windows 2003
Server. However, WSS a specialized environment and you
don't need it for general Web development.

Yes I have XP pro. Before I install IIS, do I
"need to install the Windows TCP/IP Protocol and
Connectivity Utilities."? What is this? What is simple
TCP/IP?

The install of IIS, will install all necessary components, including the
FP2000 extensions if you let it. You do not need to install Simple TCP/IP.
