Creating a new website prob...

When I try to creat a new website, I get an error saying that Sharepoint Services is not installed. This never happened with FP 2002. I am using FP 2003 now. Is Sharepoint now required? Thanks for any feedback

(Windows XP Pro, IIS 5.1

How are you creating the new site?
- If you are selecting one of the SharePoint Site Templates you need WSS
- If you are trying to do it on local host (or a server) you need the FP Server Extensions
- If you are creating a disc based Site you don't need WSS or the FP SE

No matter which template I try to use to create a new site, I get the same msg that the WSS is not installed

I can open an existing web site with no problem. Using FP extension version 6.0.2.5516. Hosting on my HDD

I have authoring set to NONE

If you are seeing FP extension version 6.0.2.5516 in Tolls Site Settings and "Hosting" on your hard disc you are Limited to Disc
based webs (like C:\MyWeb or C:\somepath\somefolder), and can not use local server based webs (http://localhost or
http://yourPCname)
(Windows XP Pro, IIS 5.1 does not support WSS, but does support the FP SE)
If you want a server based local web (hosted on your PC) you need to install the FP2002 Server Extensions under IIS

I have had this www.xxx.com site hosted from my HDD for overy 2yrs using IIS and FP extensions. Now that I install FP2003, I get that error. I don't want to use any WSS, only FP extensions. Bottom line, how do I get rid of the errors that are looking for WSS? I already had FP2002 and then I just installed FP 2003 over it. I just want to be able to create any website again with FP

Go into IIS and check you have the FP2002 SE installed and applied to your locally hosted site
FP2003 supports the FP SE
