FP 2003 Painfully Slow

I am using FP 2003 with a DSL connection to my remote server running WIN 2003.
Connecting to the remote server and publishing changed web pages is
PAINFULLY slow. I can FTP the same files in 1/10 of the time. Real-time
editing of the site has become out of the question. Why is FP2003 so slow. I
have seen this complaint about publishing with FP2003 in several other places
as well.
What can I do?

Part of the problem can be the web server itself. If the web server is very
busy, then publishing can slow down considerably. FTP'ing can still be quick
because the FTP server doesn't have the same load on it, or require the same
level of interaction as it does when publishing through the FP Extensions.

Hope this helps,

it's because frontpage sucks. do yourself a favor and
switch to dreamweaver or learn how to use notepad.
you'll thank me later.

Actually, it's not really a FrontPage problem. It's the hosts who
improperly setup the extensions, and the many users who improperly set up
their own machines and sites.
Did someone twist your arm to buy FP? If you have the time to go through
the learning curve of dreamweaver, or better yet learn code and use
notepad....be my guest. Also, you may want to try Adobe Live. Talk about
a learning curve. It's YOUR choice.
