Fowarding email from Exchange Account

T

Tha' Duke

I have a user that wishes to have his emails that arrive in his mailbox
delivered to an external (ISP) account as well.

Via Recipient policies, people who do not exist in a group that has
Internet email ability (the approval to receive email from external
senders) have Exchange email addresses of "(e-mail address removed)" instead of
(e-mail address removed).

This is per http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/techinfo/tips/AdminTip02.asp.

Since the email address domain "domain.local" doesn't resolve when people
externally reply to the email, all is well.

I went into AD Users and Computers, and in the Exchange General tab,
Delivery Options, and set his mail to forward to an Exchange Contact
record, which represents his external ISP email adddress.

The ISP that this user has at home will receive emails forwarded through
his Exchange account. However, it will reject emails from everyone in the
company that have a (e-mail address removed). Therefore, he only gets email in
his external account from those "Internet email enabled" users, and no
others.

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

Hi,

Sounds as if his ISP is doing some sort of reverse lookup on the Address and
since the domain.local as no records it refuses the mail. There is nothing
that you can do on your side.

Hope this helps,
